Some pictures of our very recent show at ArtSpace, September-October 2013. Thanks to Finn and Vincent! We also would like to thanks the Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du Québec (2X), CENART and CMM in Mexico, Pat, Miki and many other new friends that we meet at Centro Multimedia in Mexico, Fred, Sagamie. There are 100% fake CGI large-scale prints. Typically, each image is 4Gb = one DVD = feature-length NTSC film.
Philippe-Aubert Gauthier and Tanya St-Pierre acknowledge the support of SODEC ("Artistes en arts visuel - Production d'oeuvres d'art").
Philippe-Aubert Gauthier is a junior mechanical engineer, M.Sc., Ph.D. in acoustics and sound artist. His work is at the crossroads of arts, sciences and technology. Sound performance for "Homemade sound systems" // Suoni per il popolo
On June 10th 2013, Suoni Per Il Popolo organized a special sound performance evening: "Homemade sound systems". For this night, the artists, Stéphane Claude, Hélène Prévost and myself only used custom sound systems that were part of the performance. For this special and exciting night, I used my 16-channel beamformer orginally built in 2007 for an installation. For "Homemade sound system" at Eastern Bloc I used the beamformer to acoustically scan the room and interact with reflecting surface based on delay-and-sum beamforming. Pictures of the setup in the afternoon below.
Here is a link to a video excerpt, unfortunately, we don't get the spatial effect:

Thanks to Peter, Suoni, Eastern Bloc, Stéphane Claude, Hélène Prévost, Josée, Tanya St-Pierre and friends!

Sound performance at Sala Rossa // "Exceptions" by curator Eric Mattson
On April 26th 2013, the first night of "Exceptions" by Eric Mattson was presented at Sala Rossa. I played along Alexandre St-Onge and Raydmond Gervais. Pictures of my performance below. It was based on a live experiment based my recent sound installation "Motifs et moirés`that relies on digital loudspeakers and spatially-dependent psychoacoustics masking. Listeners must move arround the loudspeakers the hear the missing voice.
Thanks to Eric Mattson, Alexandre St-Onge, Raydmond Gervais, Sala Rossa, Tanya St-Pierre, Manon Labrecque, Oboro and Canada Art Council.

L'Écart, lieu d'art actuel in Rouyn-Noranda, Qc. - 2011
Télétoxie Remix is a multimedia installation created by Tanya St-Pierre et Philippe-Aubert Gauthier. The installation is adapted to various sizes of spaces to produce different effects. For us, this renewal of the installation's deployment in space constitutes a continuous research.
Thanks to the Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du Québec for their financial support, Oboro for the access to their studio and for their support, Sherbrooke for their financial support, Diapason Sound Gallery (Michael F. Schumacher) for the artist's resendency, and Les Productions Recto-Verso for their support during an artist's residency.
